Brittny had never before seen or spoken to Killian, who lives in Italy and works at a wine and champagne company. "I've always known I have a half-brother, I was told as a kid, but he was totally off the radar. It was like he didn't exist," Brittny tells PEOPLE. But Brittny's mom bumped into Nielsen at Ivana Trump's wedding last year, and they exchanged phone numbers – and, surprisingly, pleasantries. Then, last week, Nielsen "texted my mom and said Marcus is in town and he'd love to meet me," says Brittny. So, Brittny and her mother met Nielsen and her husband Mattia Dessi, along with Marcus, for dinner at Il Pastaio in Beverly Hills. "It was very weird and surreal," says Brittny, who hasn't been in touch with her father for several years. "I didn't cry. I'm too tough to cry. But we hugged, we talked about old stories. He said he watched Gastineau Girls in Italy, so he knew what I looked like." "I asked him a million questions, but he doesn't speak English. He's really cute. He's like 6′,5″, blonde. He looks exactly like Brigitte." Gastineau, who has a jewelry line, Tres Glam, with her mom, says it's surprising that Lisa was so supportive of the reunion. "It was very emotional for my mom," she says. "I mean, my dad left her for Brigitte, and she had a baby with him, but she was so supportive. She wanted me to meet Marcus." Going forward, Brittny, whose BFF is Kim Kardashian, says, "It's kind of hard to know someone in just one dinner, so I'm definitely going to stay in touch with him. | Joe Rollino Dies After Being Struck By Minivan Posted: 12 Jan 2010 10:50 AM PST Joe Rollino, who once lifted 3,200 pounds, was still able to bend quarters with just a mere flick of his 104-year-old fingers and would have turned 105 on March 19 if he was not struck down by a minivan yesterday and killed.
During his 104 years of life, Rollino seemed to have done it all. Magician extraordinaire Harry Houdini was considered to be a friend. Right before the "golden age of sports," Rollino sat front and center, when Jack Dempsey went on to become the World Champion as he delivered his winning blows against boxing contender Jess Willard in 1919. American tenor and Hollywood movie star Mario Lanza was one of Rollino's good buddies. The centenarian even had a small role in the legendary movie "On the Waterfront" starring Marlon Brando. Rollino was adored and respected by so many. In 2008, well-wishers threw him a party, which turned out to be a true celebration of his life. Retired New York City police detective and former Golden Gloves boxer Arthur Perry met Rollino at his birthday party and didn't believe he was 103 at the time. "It was astonishing, how he was smiled upon by nature," Perry said. "If you would've said to me he was 80, I'd have said he looked younger." Unfortunately, as Joe Rollino crossed Bay Ridge Parkway in Brooklyn yesterday, he was struck down by a minivan that oddly enough, had been going the speed limit. The driver was not intoxicated. The once Strongest Man in the World suffered broken ribs, head trauma and a broken pelvis. He passed away a few hours later at a nearby hospital. No criminal charges were brought against the driver but he was given a summons for a busted horn. taken from:  |

The Los Angeles Daily News has reported that USC has sent a contract offer to Del Rio, a former Trojan linebacker who has spent the past seven seasons as the Jaguars' head coach. Del Rio has a regular-season record of 57-55 with Jacksonville with a pair of playoff appearances. The Jaguars were 7-9 in 2009 and missed the postseason for a second consecutive year. Prior to meeting Tuesday with Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver, Del Rio was asked about the LA Daily News story as he was entering the team's headquarters and said he has not been contacted by his alma mater. "That's all speculation and hype," Del Rio told local reporters who stopped him before entering the building. "All of those things are manufactured. The only thing I can tell you is I've been busy working on the Jaguars for 2010. We're busy at work, trying to build this team strong. All of those other things are a figment of other people's imaginations." Del Rio was an All-American at USC during his playing career with the Trojans from 1981-84, then played in the NFL with four teams from 1985-1995 before entering the coaching ranks in 1997. Catherine Eugenia 'Jean' Finnegan Biden passed away at the family home in the small eastern state of Delaware on Friday, surrounded by her family. Joining Obama on the short flight on Air Force One from Andrews Air Force base were First Lady Michelle Obama, and 14 members of the cabinet, plus House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Also reflecting Biden's years in Washington, and the grounding role in his political life played by his mother, the funeral guest list also included former president Bill Clinton, and a string of lawmakers, the White House said. After she died last week, Biden said his mother's strength was "immeasurable." "At 92, she was the center of our family and taught all of her children that family is to be treasured, loyalty is paramount and faith will guide you through the tough times," Biden noted. "She believed in us, and because of that, we believed in ourselves." The vice president frequently sprinkles his speeches with wisdom and wit he attributes to his mother and late father, who died in 2002, often focusing on lessons he learned as a young boy. "When I got knocked down by guys bigger than me, she sent me back out and demanded that I bloody their nose so I could walk down that street the next day," former senator Biden said in his Democratic National Convention speech in 2008. | NC port closed after containers are punctured Posted: 12 Jan 2010 10:44 AM PST MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (AP) — Officials in Morehead City, North Carolina, say some people close to a port where nine containers carrying a powerful explosive were punctured are leaving. They have shut down the port and urged people to leave the area. Locals, however, say there's no sense of panic. Drew Hall, speaking from a concert hall near the port, says she can see police lights, but says "Everybody is going about their business." Police are warning people near the port to stay away from windows and doors. Authorities haven't said how big the containers are or how they were damaged. The town of 8,800 residents is home to one of the deepest ports on the East coast. taken from:  |
It's been more than two decades since Brittny Gastineau's father Mark Gastineau, the legendary New York Jets player, left Brittny's mom Lisa for actress Brigitte Nielsen. But it wasn't until last week that Brittny met the fruit of that union: her half-brother Killian Marcus Gastineau, who's now 20.
Rollino, who was once quoted as saying to those who loved him that he was "just born strong," was a poster child for longevity and optimal good health. He was a life-long vegetarian, never indulged in drinking or smoking and still maintained his credo of daily exercise for stamina. He was a boxer for most of his adult life and even belonged to the Oldetime Barbell and Strongmen club, where men of steel would rip book binders at the seam.
